Language Settings

Overview

Language Settings allow you to change the language used throughout the Keystone Loyalty Rewards app. Choose automatic language detection based on your Shopify settings or manually select your preferred language from a list of supported options.

Accessing Language Settings

  1. Open Keystone Loyalty Rewards app
  2. Navigate to Settings > Language Settings

Language Selection Mode

Automatic

The app automatically detects and uses the language based on your Shopify's language settings.

How It Works:

  • App checks Shopify language preference
  • Falls back to English if language not supported
  • Updates automatically if Shopify language changes

Benefits:

  • No manual configuration needed
  • Consistent with Shopify preferences
  • Automatically adapts to Shopify language

Manual

Manually select your preferred language from the list of supported languages.

How It Works:

  • Choose language from dropdown menu
  • App immediately switches to selected language
  • Setting persists across sessions
  • Overrides Shopify language setting

Benefits:

  • Full control over app language
  • Independent of Shopify settings
  • Can use different language than system

When to Use:

  • Shopify language doesn't match your preference
  • Need language different from system default
  • Sharing device with users of different languages
  • Testing app in different languages

Changing Language

Using Automatic Mode

Steps:

  1. Navigate to Settings > Language Settings
  2. Select Automatic radio button
  3. App switches to Shopify's language
  4. Change takes effect immediately

Using Manual Mode

Steps:

  1. Navigate to Settings > Language Settings
  2. Select Manual radio button
  3. Language dropdown appears
  4. Click dropdown to open language list
  5. Scroll through available languages
  6. Click desired language
  7. App switches immediately to selected language

Example:

Selection Mode: Manual
Language Selected: Spanish

Result: All app text, labels, buttons, and
messages appear in Spanish

What Changes with Language

When you change the app language, the following elements update:

App Interface:

  • Navigation menu labels
  • Page titles and headers
  • Button text
  • Form field labels
  • Help text and descriptions

Data Tables:

  • Column headers
  • Status labels
  • Action button labels

Messages:

  • Success notifications
  • Error messages
  • Warning prompts
  • Confirmation dialogs

Settings Pages:

  • Configuration options
  • Field descriptions
  • Help tooltips

What Doesn't Change:

  • Customer data (names, emails)
  • Transaction descriptions
  • Custom reward names
  • Merchant-entered content
  • Store-specific data

Summary

Language Settings allow you to control the language used in the Keystone Loyalty Rewards app. Choose Automatic mode to match your Shopify language or Manual mode to select from 20 supported languages.
