Quick Start Guide

Get your loyalty program up and running in 5 simple steps. This guide walks you through the essential setup to launch your program quickly.

Prerequisites

  • Keystone Loyalty Rewards app installed in your Shopify store
  • Admin access to your Shopify store

Before configuring your loyalty program, review and accept the email consent options.

What You'll Do

  1. Navigate to Settings > Email Consent in the Keystone app
  2. Review the two consent options:
    • Product Updates: Receive updates about new features and improvements to Keystone Loyalty Rewards
    • Marketing Emails: Receive promotional emails about other ShopCircle apps
  3. Select your preferences (both are optional)
  4. Click Save

Step 2: Set Up Order Earning Rule

Configure how customers earn points from purchases.

What You'll Do

  1. Navigate to Earning Rules > Order Earning Rule
  2. Toggle Enable to activate the earning rule
  3. Configure the earning rate:
    • Points per dollar spent: Set how many points customers earn (e.g., 1 point per $1)
    • Or Points per order: Set a fixed number of points per order
  4. (Optional) Configure advanced settings:
    • Exclude specific products, collections, or customer segments
    • Set minimum order value requirements
    • Configure tax and shipping inclusion
  5. Click Save

Recommended Settings

A common starting point is 1 point per $1 spent. This is easy for customers to understand and calculate their potential rewards.

Example: If you set 1 point per $1 spent, a customer spending $100 will earn 100 points.

Step 3: Set Up a Coupon Reward

Create your first reward that customers can redeem with their points.

What You'll Do

  1. Navigate to Rewards > Coupon Rewards > Order Discounts
  2. Click Create Discount
  3. Configure the basic settings:
    • Reward Name: What customers will see (e.g., "$5 Off Your Order")
    • Points Cost: How many points required to claim (e.g., 500 points)
    • Discount Type: Choose percentage or fixed amount
    • Discount Value: Set the discount amount (e.g., $5 or 10%)
  4. Configure discount settings:
    • Minimum purchase requirement: Optional minimum order value
    • Maximum uses per discount code: Default is 1 (one-time use)
  5. Click Create

Recommended First Reward

Create a simple reward like "$5 Off - 500 Points". This gives customers an attainable goal and helps them understand the value of points.

Example:

  • Reward Name: "$5 Off Your Order"
  • Points Cost: 500 points
  • Discount: $5 fixed amount
  • Result: Customers who earn 500 points (from spending $500 at 1 point/$1) can redeem for $5 off

Step 4: Set Up the Storefront Widget

Install and customize the customer-facing loyalty widget on your storefront.

What You'll Do

  1. Navigate to Online Store > Themes in your Shopify admin
  2. Click Customize on your active theme
  3. In the theme editor, locate App embeds in the left sidebar
  4. Find Keystone Loyalty Widget and toggle it ON
  5. (Optional) Customize the widget appearance:
    • Adjust colors to match your brand
    • Set widget position (left, center, or right)
    • Upload custom icons
  6. Click Save in the theme editor

Quick Test

After saving, visit your storefront and look for the loyalty widget icon (usually in the bottom-right corner). Click it to see the widget in action!

Step 5: Enable the Loyalty Program

The final step - make your loyalty program live!

What You'll Do

  1. Navigate to Loyalty Program Settings > Program Settings
  2. Review your configuration:
    • Verify your earning rule is enabled
    • Verify at least one reward is created
    • Confirm the widget is installed on your storefront
  3. Toggle Enable Loyalty Program to ON
  4. Click Save

Important

Once enabled, customers can immediately start earning and redeeming points. Make sure you've completed steps 1-4 before enabling!
