Sharing Options

Overview

Configure how Advocates can share their referral links with potential customers. Enable multiple sharing channels and customize the message for each to maximize reach and conversion.

Available Sharing Methods

Email

Share referral via direct email.

Configuration:

  • Enable/disable email sharing
  • Customize email subject line
  • Customize email message
  • Link automatically included

Email Notifications

The email content must be configured in Email Notifications settings under "New referral" in the Referrals section. This allows Advocates to share their referral link directly with friends via email.

Facebook

Share referral on Facebook.

Configuration:

  • Enable/disable Facebook sharing
  • Customize sharing message
  • Link automatically included

Example:

Check out our store! Use my link for a special discount: {{referral_link}}

Twitter/X

Share referral on Twitter/X.

Configuration:

  • Enable/disable Twitter sharing
  • Customize tweet text (character limit applies)
  • Link automatically included

WhatsApp

Share referral via WhatsApp.

Configuration:

  • Enable/disable WhatsApp sharing
  • Customize message
  • Link automatically included

Viber

Share referral via Viber.

Configuration:

  • Enable/disable Viber sharing
  • Customize message
  • Link automatically included

Signal

Share referral via Signal.

Configuration:

  • Enable/disable Signal sharing
  • Customize message
  • Link automatically included

Telegram

Share referral via Telegram.

Configuration:

  • Enable/disable Telegram sharing
  • Customize message
  • Link automatically included

Copy referral link directly.

Configuration:

  • Enable/disable link copying
  • No message customization (just the link)
  • Button copies link to clipboard

Use Case:

  • Share on platforms not listed above
  • Share via SMS
  • Paste in personal messages

Best Practices

Keep Messages:

  • Personal and friendly
  • Clear about the benefit
  • Short and scannable
  • Action-oriented

Good Example:

Hey! I love shopping here. Get a discount with my link: {{referral_link}}

Bad Example:

This is a store that sells products and you can get a discount
if you use this link and make a purchase before the offer expires...

Setup Process

Step 1: Navigate to Sharing Options

  1. Open Keystone Loyalty Rewards app
  2. Navigate to Referral > Sharing Options

Step 2: Enable Sharing Methods

Toggle ON the sharing methods you want to offer:

  • ☑ Email
  • ☑ Facebook
  • ☑ Twitter/X
  • ☑ WhatsApp
  • ☑ Viber
  • ☑ Signal
  • ☑ Telegram
  • ☑ Share via Link

Step 3: Customize Messages

For each enabled method (except Link):

  1. Click Edit Message
  2. Enter custom message
  3. Include placeholder for the referral link
  4. Preview message
  5. Save

Step 4: Test Sharing

  1. View referral program as customer
  2. Test each sharing method
  3. Verify messages appear correctly
  4. Ensure links work properly

Sharing Attempt Limits

To prevent abuse, the system automatically limits sharing attempts from the same IP address for certain methods.

Limited Methods:

  • Email
  • WhatsApp
  • Viber
  • Signal
  • Telegram

How It Works:

  • System tracks shares by IP address
  • Excessive sharing from same IP is blocked
  • Automatic protection (not configurable by merchant)
  • Prevents spam and abuse

Not Limited:

  • Facebook
  • Twitter/X
  • Share via Link

Sharing Options give your Advocates multiple ways to spread the word about your store. By enabling various channels and customizing messages for each, you make it easy for customers to share in the way that feels most natural to them, whether that's through social media, messaging apps, or direct email.
