Dynamic Translations FAQ

Do I have to translate everything? No. Translations are completely optional for every field and every language. If a translation is missing, the customer sees the original text. You can start with your most important content (like tier names and reward titles) and add more over time.

What happens if I update the original text — does the translation update automatically? No. Translations are independent from the original text. If you change "Gold" to "Gold Tier" in English, your French translation stays as "Or" until you update it manually. Make sure to review your translations any time you rename content.

Can I add a language that is not in Shopify? The translation fields will let you add content in any of the 57+ supported languages, but customers will only be served a translation if that language is active in your Shopify store. Languages not published in Shopify will never be detected for your customers.

Can the app translate content automatically for me? Automatic AI translation is not currently available. All translations need to be entered manually.

Does this translate the widget buttons and labels too? No. Dynamic Translations covers the content you create — your reward names, tier titles, descriptions, program name, and points name. The built-in widget UI text (buttons, headings, system messages) is handled separately through Storefront Translations.

If I delete a reward or tier, do the translations get deleted too? Yes. Translations belong to their parent content. Deleting a reward, earning rule, or tier removes all translations associated with it.

Can I have different languages on different parts of the program? Yes. Each field is translated independently. You could have your tier names translated into 5 languages and your reward titles translated into only 2 — whatever makes sense for your store.
