Points Balance Block
Displays the customer's live points balance in your store header - visible on every page of your storefront.
Unlike the other loyalty blocks, the Points Balance block is designed for the header of your theme. Once added, it travels with the customer across the entire store - home page, collection pages, product pages, and cart - keeping rewards top of mind while they shop.
What It Shows
- Points Balance - The customer's current available points (e.g., "250") displayed as a compact badge with a star icon
- Sits naturally alongside the search, account, and cart icons in your header
The balance stays up to date automatically as the customer earns and spends points across your store.
How It Works
- Logged-in customers see their real, per-customer balance the moment the page loads
- Guests / logged-out visitors do not see a balance - the block only shows customer-specific data for authenticated customers
- The balance is loaded asynchronously via authenticated API calls, so it never blocks page rendering
Adding the Block to Your Header
- From your Shopify admin, go to Online Store → Themes and click Customize on your active theme.
- Select the Header section in the left sidebar.
- Click Add block and choose Points Balance from the Keystone Loyalty Rewards app blocks.
- Drag the block where you want it - most stores place it between the account and cart icons.
- Click Save. The balance is immediately live on every page of your store.
No theme code, no snippets, and nothing to maintain across theme updates.
Best Placed On
The store header, next to the account and cart icons. Because the header is present on every page, this is the single most visible placement for your loyalty program.
Tip: Pair the Points Balance block with the Account Data Block on a dedicated loyalty page - the header badge keeps the balance visible everywhere, while the Account Data block gives customers the full picture (tier status, recent activity).
