Multi-Currency Overview

What It Does

If your store sells to customers in different countries, multi-currency makes your loyalty program feel local to each of them. Instead of always showing reward values in your store's base currency (e.g. USD), the loyalty widget automatically shows each customer the equivalent value in their own currency.

A customer in Germany sees reward values in Euros. A customer in Japan sees Yen. They never have to think about conversion — it just works.

What gets converted:

  • Reward values in the loyalty widget and customer account page
  • Discount amounts on coupon rewards, gift cards, and dynamic discount codes
  • The points-to-money conversion ratio shown in the widget
  • The value shown when a customer is about to redeem a reward

Before You Start

Two things need to be in place:

1. Your plan must include Multi-Currency If it does not, you will see an upgrade prompt when this feature is accessed in the dashboard.

2. Enable multiple currencies in Shopify Go to your Shopify admin → Settings → Payments and enable the currencies you want to support under Shopify Markets or Presentment Currencies. The loyalty app only shows currencies that are already active in your Shopify store — it will not display currencies you haven't enabled there.

How to Enable

Once your plan includes Multi-Currency and you have currencies active in Shopify, the feature is automatically available. No additional setup steps are needed — the app picks up your enabled currencies from Shopify and begins detecting customer currencies on the storefront right away.
