Multi-Currency FAQ
Will my customers be charged in their local currency? Not because of this feature. Charging in local currencies is a Shopify Markets setting. Multi-currency in the loyalty app is display-only — it shows customers their reward value in a familiar currency but does not change how Shopify processes payments or applies discounts.
What if I add a new currency to Shopify later? The app picks it up automatically within 4 hours (the next exchange rate sync). You do not need to do anything.
Can a customer switch their displayed currency themselves? No. The loyalty widget does not have a currency selector. The currency is detected automatically based on their location and saved from their first visit onward.
The exchange rate looks wrong — what can I do? You can set a manual rate override for any currency pair. This takes priority over the auto-synced rate and stays fixed until you change it.
What currencies are supported? Over 150 currencies — covering all major and regional currencies globally. However, only currencies that are enabled in your Shopify payment settings will be shown to customers.
Does this work for all reward types? Yes — coupon rewards (order, product, shipping discounts), gift cards, and dynamic discount codes all support multi-currency display.
